Millions of ride-hailing and food delivery drivers struggle to meet revenue targets due to a lack of real-time training and support, resulting in significant inefficiencies for businesses. Our AI-driven, WhatsApp-based agent offers real-time driver training and support, ensuring productivity and operational efficiency. The long-term vision is to build an autonomous fleet management system managing driver and vehicle lifecycles seamlessly. We have successfully proven our concept in regions across Africa and the Middle East.

This is a full-time remote job for a Founding Engineer at Ascense AI. As a core team member, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software systems aligned with our vision of revolutionizing fleet management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead the architecture and coding of key product features, and contribute to building highly efficient, user-friendly solutions. This role will involve hands-on coding, solving complex technical challenges, and working closely with leadership to shape the company's engineering culture and strategy.

Strong experience in software development, including proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
Proven skills in system design, architecture, and scalability with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience in database management, APIs, and backend technologies.
Familiarity with AI, machine learning concepts, or chatbot development is a strong plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts, and drive projects to completion.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degrees are a plus.
