Apply insights to guide scientific strategy and product development decisions.________________________________________Required Qualifications
PhD in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline from a US based Universities
4+ years of experience in molecular diagnostics, infectious disease diagnostics, or related fields. Startup industry experience mandatory
Demonstrated experience in diagnostic assay development and translational R&D
Proven success in grant writing and securing research funding
Strong understanding of the infectious disease diagnostics landscape
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with ability to translate scientific discoveries into product opportunities________________________________________Preferred Qualifications
Experienced or a quick learner for securing federal grant funding (NIH, BARDA, NSF, DoD, SBIR/STTR)
Experience developing IVD or point-of-care diagnostic assays
Previous experience in biotechnology or diagnostics companies
Familiarity with regulatory pathways for diagnostic products (FDA, CLIA, EUA)
Experience with intellectual property development and technology transfer
Experience working within Agile or Lean product development environments________________________________________Work LocationThis position is full-time and onsite at Newark NJThe initial focus will be on the development of Research Use Only (RUO) assays, followed by progression toward regulated IVD assay development targeting rapid detection of pathogens responsible for sepsis and severe infectious diseases.________________________________________Compensation
