We are searching for a
Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)
who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering, delivery, and customer impact. You are comfortable owning complex integrations, shaping solutions alongside customers, and turning ambiguous requirements into working systems that go live.
In this role, you will work directly with customers, founders, and the core engineering team to deliver PoCs and production deployments. You will be deeply involved from first technical scoping through go-live and expansion. This is a hands-on role with real ownership.
This is not a support or pre-sales role. It is a core delivery role in an early-stage company where execution quality defines success.
Mission
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, your mission is to turn customer problems into production-ready AI workflows.
You will lead the technical delivery of PoCs and production deployments, ensuring integrations are correct, data flows are reliable, and customer expectations are met or exceeded. You act as the technical owner on customer projects, bridging customer systems, MarvelX’s platform, and the internal engineering team.
Your success is measured by PoCs converting to production, production systems staying stable, and customers expanding usage over time.
What you will work on
- Lead technical delivery of customer PoCs from kickoff to production
- Integrate MarvelX with customer systems (APIs, data feeds, document pipelines, internal tools)
- Translate customer workflows and requirements into concrete technical implementations
- Configure, adapt, and extend MarvelX AI agents for specific customer use cases
- Work closely with core engineers to unblock delivery, shape features, and improve platform robustness
- Own technical communication with customer engineering, IT, and operations teams
- Ensure deployments meet performance, reliability, and security expectations in regulated environments
- Support the transition from PoC → production → expansion by identifying follow-up use cases
What you bring
- Strong software engineering background with experience shipping production systems
- Comfort working directly with customers and owning technical outcomes end-to-end
- Solid experience with APIs, data pipelines, and system integrations
- Ability to work in ambiguous environments and turn loose requirements into concrete solutions
- Strong debugging skills and a bias toward reliability and correctness
- Clear communicator who can explain technical trade-offs to both engineers and non-engineers
- Ownership mindset: you don’t wait for perfect specs, you make things work
Bonus points for
- Experience in insurance, fintech, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with Python-based backend systems and APIs
- Experience deploying AI or data-heavy systems in production
- Prior startup experience or time in high-ownership environments
- Comfort working across time zones and with enterprise stakeholders
