Assist in preparing annual budgets, monthly MIS, and variance analyses using driver-based forecasting and rolling forecasts.
Support financial modeling and scenario planning (sensitivity analysis, DCF, what-if scenarios) to guide business decisions.
Track and report SaaS and subscription metrics such as MRR, ARR, Churn rate, ARPU, CAC, LTV, CAC payback period, Gross Margin, Burn Rate, and Runway.
Perform cohort analysis, unit economics evaluation, and KPI trend analysis to inform growth and retention strategies.
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and management dashboards for internal stakeholders using BI/reporting tools.
Ensure data accuracy and compliance with internal policies and applicable accounting standards (IFRS, IND AS, and awareness of ASC 606 revenue recognition for subscription models).
Support audit and tax filing processes by maintaining well-organized records, reconciliations, and evidence for controls.
Experience in export-specific and regulatory reports (e.g., FIRC, BRC, export invoice reports, SOFTEX forms) and maintenance of supporting documentation.
Prepare project-wise revenue & cost reports, accounts receivable aging, budget vs. actual analyses, FX gain/loss reports, and detailed MRR/ARR reporting with reconciliations to general ledger.
Revenue & Expense Management
Work with sales and operations teams to track revenue recognition, monitor contracts, validate billing, and coordinate with subscription billing platforms.
Analyze operating expenses and identify areas for cost optimization with unit-level and category-level analysis.
Monitor cash flow, prepare cash forecasts, and support accounts receivable/payable tracking and collections processes.
Process Improvement & Systems
Automate recurring reports and improve financial processes using Excel automation, Power Query/Power Pivot, macros/VBA, or ETL/reporting tools.
Work with finance and ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Tally, Zoho Books, NetSuite, SAP Business One) to ensure data integrity and month-end close efficiency.
Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of financial tools, dashboards, and integrations (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Google Data Studio, or similar) and API-based billing/revenue feeds (Stripe, Chargebee, Recurly).
Qualifications
Education & Experience
CA Inter or CA completed; relevant finance/accounting qualifications are valued.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in finance, preferably in a tech, SaaS, or software company, or fast-moving startup environment.
Practical experience with subscription accounting, SaaS metrics, and startup financial operations is a plus.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate data into actionable insights and clear recommendations.
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills: PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Power Query, Power Pivot, and experience writing macros/VBA for automation.
Hands-on experience with SQL for data extraction (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and familiarity with Python (pandas) or R for analytical tasks is advantageous.
Proficiency with accounting and ERP tools (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Zoho Books, Tally) and subscription/billing platforms (Stripe, Chargebee, Recurly).
Experience building dashboards and visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Google Data Studio; knowledge of data connectors and scheduled reporting.
Understanding of accounting standards and controls (IFRS, IND AS, basics of ASC 606), month-end close, reconciliations, and audit processes; familiarity with SOX/internal control frameworks is beneficial.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to collaborate across finance, sales, and operations teams.
US accounting exposure or international accounting experience is an added advantage.
