Position Overview
Cenith Innovations is seeking a Field Test Technician to support the testing and evaluation of our autonomous systems. This role will focus primarily on uncrewed aircraft systems, with the potential to expand into ground-based and other autonomous vehicle platforms over time.
This is a hands-on position for someone who is dependable, mechanically minded, comfortable working outdoors, and eager to learn. In this role, you will spend much of your time helping prepare for and execute field tests, supporting system setup and operation, documenting results, and working closely with engineers to improve system performance. You do not need to come in as an expert in autonomous systems, but you should have strong technical aptitude, good judgment, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Support field testing of autonomous systems, primarily UAS, with the potential to support other UxV platforms over time
- Assist with test setup, pre-checks, launch and recovery activities, teardown, and general field operations
- Work independently or alongside development engineers to help evaluate new features, capabilities, and system updates
- Observe system performance during tests and document findings, issues, and general feedback
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on technical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems and tools
- Comfortable working outdoors in field environments and around electromechanical equipment
- Able to follow procedures carefully while also using good judgment in dynamic situations
- Clear communicator with good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Eligible to obtain and hold a U.S. Security Clearance
- Must have reliable personal transportation to travel to and from our Bend, OR office and test site locations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with drones, RC systems, robotics, vehicles, or other hands-on technical hobbies or jobs
- Prior experience in field testing, product testing, technical support, fabrication, or mechanical/electrical assembly
- Existing FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot License
- Familiarity with basic tools, troubleshooting, and technical documentation
- Interest in autonomous systems, aviation, vehicles, or defense technology
