Company Description:

Headsafe is a medical device start-up in Sydney, Australia with a goal of revolutionising concussion measurement and management through novel technology. Headsafe’s present focus is on the scientific and clinical research of our NUROCHEK-PRO device and its application in assessing brain function. We have research projects across multiple sporting and healthcare environments in Australia, the U.S., and the U.K.

Role Description:

Our Field Research Assistants collect data for our clinical research studies using the Nurochek device at participating sports sites and organised events. Successful candidates must adhere to study protocols, quality control standards, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.

Key responsibilities:

Set up, calibrate, and operate the Nurochek device with research participants, including athletes and sports professionals
Manage participant engagement and communication, both in-person and via phone
Assist with recruitment and obtain informed consent from research participants
Perform accurate and detailed digital data entry
Document and oversee device-related procedures, applying strong research and analytical skills
Report participant feedback and study progress updates to the Research Coordinator

Ideal candidate (preferred)

Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude
Flexible availability, including evenings (after 5pm) and/or weekends ( essential )
Currently studying or holding a qualification from a recognised institution in a relevant field (e.g. Health Sciences, Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering)
Willingness to travel to events or testing sites across Sydney (own vehicle preferred)

Please note: This is an ongoing casual contract with no formal set hours. The nature of the work is AD HOC , meaning there may be periods without shifts, or shifts may be impromptu and intermittent. This role is well-suited to current students, as well as shift, part-time, or hybrid workers. Pay will be $40/hr. Successful candidates must be based in Sydney, NSW.
