Field Based Sales Specialist

The Field-Based Sales Specialist Cell Monitoring represents PHIO’s innovative cell monitoring solutions directly at customer sites in universities, research institutions, and the pharmaceutical industry. This role focuses on active field presence – spending several days per week visiting customers, pilot installations, or demo sites. The key objective is to build and strengthen customer relationships, conduct product demonstrations, and manage the entire sales process on-site – from initial contact to successful deal closure. You will work closely with the internal sales team, marketing, and application support, playing a key role in expanding PHIO’s market position in the field of cell monitoring.

Identify and assess potential customers in the field of cell monitoring.

Support the prioritization of leads for the sales team and maintain structured documentation in Salesforce.

Customer Acquisition & Field Activities

Actively approach and acquire new customers, while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing ones.
Independently plan and execute regular customer acquisition visits (several days per week in the field).
Actively present and demonstrate PHIO’s technology, leading in-depth sales discussions and follow-ups directly in customer labs or through virtual meetings.
Support pilot projects and trial deployments in close collaboration with the application and support teams.

Sales Process & Account Management

Take ownership in driving deal closures, proactively support customer negotiations, and engage management when needed to secure agreements.
Prepare, present, and adapt offers to customer requirements.
Maintain and continuously update customer data, sales activities, and pipeline information in Salesforce.
Gather structured feedback from the field to continuously improve products, services, and customer experience.

Conferences & Representation

Represent PHIO at scientific conferences, trade fairs, and networking events.
Support product presentations, workshops, and marketing initiatives together with internal specialists.

Selected Activities

Regular travel within the assigned sales region (approx. 60–70% of working time).
Organize and perform lab visits, product demos, and trial installations.
Prepare visit reports, offers, and follow-ups with prospects and customers.
Participate in internal sales and product trainings.
Contribute to regional marketing and lead-generation campaigns.

Profile Requirements

Degree in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related life-science discipline.
Very solid understanding of cell biology and cell culture methods; hands-on lab experience required.
High willingness to travel and strong enthusiasm for direct customer engagement.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Independent, well-structured, and results-driven working style.
Fluency in German or English required; German language skills are beneficial but not mandatory if compensated by other strong capabilities.
Initial experience in scientific sales, customer support, or field-based technical roles is an advantage.
