Job Description:
The Federal Business Development Account Executive is responsible for driving growth across the U.S. Federal market through proactive opportunity identification, customer engagement, and direct involvement in capturing and shaping government business.
This is a hands-on role requiring regular engagement with government stakeholders, partners, and internal teams to convert early-stage conversations into qualified, funded opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Key Focus Areas
- Direct customer engagement (not desk-based BD)
- Hands-on opportunity shaping and qualification
- Supporting strategic federal growth initiatives
- Cross-functional collaboration with technical and bid teams
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in business development, capture, or sales
- Strong understanding of U.S. Federal procurement processes and acquisition lifecycle
- Demonstrated success developing pipelines and progressing opportunities
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Comfortable operating independently in a high-trust, high-autonomy role
Desirable Experience
- Experience in defence, intelligence, homeland security, or federal technology solutions
- Experience supporting or leading capture efforts for complex federal contracts
- Existing network across key federal departments or agencies
- Understanding of cleared environments / sensitive programmes
Security & Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (or currently hold one) may be required depending on client portfolio
