Company description
Forgis is building the intelligent layer for manufacturing plants, an orchestration platform that integrates machines across vendors, hardware types, and applications. On top of this, we bring real-time intelligence: digital engineers that learn from data, make decisions, and continuously optimize production, from configuring and validating lines to predicting failures and guiding operators. From one interface, Forgis turns disconnected automation into a unified, adaptive system: the factory’s brain.
Forward Deployed Robotics Engineer
At Forgis, the Forward Deployed Robotics Engineer (FDRE) role isn’t just a job title, it’s the blueprint of our founding engineers. Inspired by the Palantir model, FDSEs embed directly with our customers, tackling complex AI and automation challenges right on the factory floor. As an FDRE, you’ll operate at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and real-world industrial problems, designing and deploying solutions that optimize production, streamline processes, and transform how factories operate.
Responsibilities :
· I mmersing : you’ll be on the industrial frontline with our customers, seeing production flows (and bottlenecks) in real time. Reports and dashboards can’t replace being there, every inefficiency is a clue, every challenge an opportunity to innovate.
· Solving : you tackle complex AI and automation problems head-on. Predicting machine downtime, optimizing assembly lines, or automating repetitive tasks, you experiment, prototype, and iterate fast. When we say “solve it,” we mean get your hands dirty in data, code, and workflows until the problem stops being a problem.
· Advancing : we operate at the forefront of technological possibilities. Cutting-edge AI, predictive maintenance, smart robotics, state-of-the-art tools and algorithms are our playground. The real challenge is bringing them into the industrial frontline , transforming factories and production lines that have never experienced this level of innovation.
· Measuring : everything is quantified. You don’t stop at “it works”; you measure throughput, error reduction, and availability. Real-world impact drives decisions, product direction, and future innovation.
This role is ideal for you if :
· You’ve proven yourself in real tech challenges , winning a hackathon, shipping a complex project, or building something others said couldn’t be done.
· You have a technical background with an MSc from a top university (eg ETH, TUM, Oxford, Cambridge etc).
· You have solid experience in software engineering, Robotics (better if industrial), AI/ML, Python, C++.
· Knowledge in Industrial protocols (e.g., MQTT, OPC-UA) is a plus.
· Experience in industrial settings .
