About the client
This company is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional engineering team in building and scaling a SaaS platform. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management to deliver reliable, high-performing systems. You will partner closely with Product to translate business requirements into a clear technical strategy and execution.
About the Role
Technical Leadership:
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable front-end and back-end systems.
- Establish and uphold best practices in architecture, code quality, testing, security, and performance.
- Provide technical guidance through system design reviews and hands-on contribution as needed.
Team Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and develop engineers across disciplines, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support career growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product and other stakeholders to define technical requirements, scope, and delivery plans.
- Serve as the primary liaison between engineering and business stakeholders.
Delivery and Quality:
- Own engineering execution, including agile processes, CI/CD pipelines, and release reliability.
- Ensure systems are maintainable, secure, and scalable as the platform grows.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of software development experience, including leadership of engineering teams.
- Strong front-end and back-end expertise, with hands-on experience in React and Ruby on Rails.
- Proven ability to set technical direction and deliver high-quality software at scale.
Preferred
- Experience building and scaling SaaS products.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Demonstrated passion for mentoring and developing engineers.
