You are the right future Veriffian for the job if you have:

• A strategic mindset and proven ability to align engineering efforts with measurable business impact.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling alignment across technical and non-technical audiences.
• A passion for mentoring and creating inclusive, high-performing team cultures.
• You have prior experience addressing fraud at scale, whether through the development of fraud detection pipelines, the deployment of counter-abuse measures, or by leading teams responsible for fraud prevention systems.
• Familiarity with ML-driven systems and the ability to partner fluently with data scientists and ML engineers.
• Strong system design skills and the judgment to make pragmatic architectural decisions under real-world constraints.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritise under risk, and frame technical investments in terms of business outcomes. You approach complexity with curiosity and tenacity, thrive on uncovering root causes, and seek practical, sustainable solutions to high-impact problems.
• Proven ability to build, scale, retain, and drive strong engineering teams with a clear sense of purpose and identity.
• A mindset geared towards innovation, with experience in implementing new technologies or methodologies to enhance fraud detection capabilities

You’re An Especially Awesome Match If You Have

• Experience with fraud prevention, security platforms, or decision engines in fintech, identity, or similar domains.
• Proficiency in Python is a huge plus
• We expect our new leader to have evolved in cloud platforms ecosystems(AWS/GCP), and services specialised in data processing and ML.
• Hands-on experience with observability, risk modelling, or feedback loop integration.
