Meet the Team
At Preply, we build scalable and reliable applications using Python/Django, with a strong focus on data, A/B testing, and feedback from students and tutors to guide our decisions. We prioritize product quality through robust monitoring, metrics analysis, and continuous optimization. Thanks to our advanced CI/CD processes, we release code 50–60 times per day. As a fast-growing company, we face a wide range of technical challenges, giving our engineers plenty of opportunities to grow and make an impact, some of which we even share on our Engineering Blog.
We’re looking for a crafty Engineering Manager to join our Platform Tribe
, which drives and scales Preply’s engineering platform, with a focus on Developer Experience, CI/CD, and DevOps. This is a key, cross-cutting role at the intersection of software engineering and infrastructure.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead and grow one to two high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
Build reusable tools, abstractions, and self-service capabilities to make software engineering at Preply faster, safer, and more reliable.
What You Need To Succeed
Proven experience leading teams in designing and scaling development lifecycle infrastructure in production.
Strong background in software engineering, system architecture, infrastructure, CI/CD, and DevOps.
Proven experience influencing senior engineering leaders, aligning across multiple product teams, and managing roadmaps of distributed stakeholders.
People-centric approach and team building skills: We’re looking for someone passionate about building strong, results-oriented teams and achieving impact through effective team leadership.
Provide technical expertise: Driving engineering best practices, adoption of tools and alignment with architectural standards.
