About the Role

Position: Engineering Manager (f/m/d)

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multiple teams of software engineers to independently deliver high-quality product increments.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to guide continuous product discovery and delivery.
• Drive team vision to provide purpose, direction, and clarity, enabling effective decision-making and alignment with business objectives.
• Help architect and design scalable and maintainable software solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Coordinate with other teams to integrate software components and ensure seamless functionality.
• Provide guidance and support to team members as needed.

Qualifications

Leadership

• 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in team leadership, including some at the 2nd line level.
• Deep understanding of lean and agile software development methodologies and best practices.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience in high-growth environments, including structural and organizational transformations.
• Proven experience in recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring top talent.
• Experience coaching teams and lead developers for growth and continuous improvement.

Architecture

• Experience in designing and implementing scalable distributed systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Development

• 7-10 years of overall experience in software development, especially using JVM languages (Kotlin preferred).
• Experience tracking and improving performance using DORA and similar metrics.

Bonus Points

• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as GCP or AWS.
• Contribution to open-source projects or technical communities.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Extensive insights into the Spring Framework and its modules.
• Experience with frontend frameworks (Angular 2+, CSS/SASS, Typescript, etc.).
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Neo4J).
