• Leading, growing, and developing a high-performing engineering team responsible for core biometric infrastructure, including authentication and liveness detection.
• Defining the team’s structure and evolution as it doubles in size, introducing clear processes and scalable execution practices.
• Owning the end-to-end delivery of biometric products — from model training to SDK integrations and user experience — ensuring performance, scalability, and regulatory compliance from ideation to measurable outcomes.
• Partnering with product leadership to define and execute strategy, influencing roadmap, technical architecture, and go-to-market readiness.
• Driving initiatives that bring core biometric IP in-house, reducing third-party dependencies and increasing control over performance and innovation.
• Ensuring operational excellence, observability, and robustness across all systems under your team’s ownership.
• Building a team culture centered on trust, technical curiosity, and high-quality execution.
• Contributing to Veriff’s global security posture by future-proofing our defences against spoofing, deepfakes, and generative AI–based attacks.
• Mentoring engineers and engineering leads, providing feedback and support for long-term growth.

• You bring technical leadership in machine learning, computer vision, or platform engineering — and are passionate about applying that expertise to solve real-world identity and trust challenges.
• You’ve built or led teams responsible for end-to-end products, combining backend systems, model deployment, and customer-facing integrations (e.g., SDKs).
• You’re comfortable with high-growth environments and have experience designing systems that scale with both product adoption and team size.
• You demonstrate a strong ability to balance technical depth with people leadership, especially as the team grows and the role becomes more strategic.
• You know how to navigate ambiguity and define structure where none exists, all while keeping your team focused and motivated.
• You’re excited to work in a regulated domain, collaborating with legal and compliance to create safe, privacy-preserving experiences.

You’re An Especially Awesome Match If You Have

• Experience leading teams in biometrics, computer vision, or applied machine learning, especially in domains like authentication, anti-spoofing, or user verification.
• Familiarity with ML development frameworks, and embedding-based architectures in production.
• Exposure to regulated domains (e.g., identity verification, fintech, healthcare) with an understanding of data privacy principles and user consent flows.
• Proven ability to integrate ML systems into real-time user experiences, including on-device or SDK-based inference.
• Experience partnering with ML platform teams to deploy models efficiently and monitor performance post-deployment.
• Strong systems thinking — you can architect for both short-term impact and long-term differentiation.
