The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and visionary Engineering Manager to lead Parspec's engineering excellence initiative. In this pivotal role, you will build and mentor a high-performing engineering team while driving technical innovation, architectural excellence, and delivery accountability. As our Engineering Manager, you will blend deep technical expertise, strategic leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to scale our AI-powered construction technology platform. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and AI teams to transform ambitious business goals into reliable, scalable technical solutions while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous growth.

What You Will Achieve And Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, driving technical excellence, accountability, and growth through coaching, feedback, and career development opportunities.
• Hire and onboard high-performing engineers, building a diverse and skilled team capable of delivering complex technical initiatives.
• Establish and uphold engineering best practices across code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, and system architecture.

Delivery & Execution

• Own sprint planning, sprint commitments, and delivery accountability, ensuring predictable execution and transparent communication with stakeholders.
• Set, track, and deliver quarterly engineering goals aligned with product and business priorities, translating high-level objectives into actionable technical roadmaps.
• Own end-to-end delivery of software systems, from architecture and design through deployment, iteration, and production support.
• Serve as the technical escalation point, proactively identifying and resolving delivery risks, system bottlenecks, and technical blockers.

Technical Architecture & Decision-Making

• Make architectural and technical decisions ensuring systems are secure, maintainable, and scalable to support long-term growth.
• Architect and optimize distributed backend systems leveraging AWS cloud-native technologies, databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB), and caching solutions (Redis, Elasticsearch).
• Establish CI/CD pipelines, observability frameworks, and testing strategies that enable rapid, confident deployments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product, Design, Data, and AI teams to translate business goals into scalable technical solutions and innovative features.
• Drive alignment on technical decisions and architectural choices across engineering and product teams.
• Act as the technical bridge between engineering and other functions, ensuring shared understanding of system capabilities and constraints.

Agentic AI Integration

• Champion the adoption of Agentic AI tools and methodologies across the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, debugging, and delivery automation.
• Lead technical initiatives that leverage AI to accelerate engineering productivity and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications Experience & Leadership:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an engineering management or technical leadership role
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and shipping complex products at scale

Technical Expertise:

• Proficiency in Go, Python, Django, JavaScript, React, and TypeScript
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including designing, deploying, and operating cloud-native systems
• Hands-on experience with multiple databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB
• Familiarity with caching systems (Redis) and Elasticsearch
• Experience with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines

Agentic AI & Modern Development:

• Demonstrated experience using Agentic AI across the SDLC (design, coding, testing, debugging, delivery automation)
• Understanding of AI/ML integration within software development workflows

Architectural & System Design:

• Strong background in distributed systems architecture, microservices, and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
• Proven ability to design secure, maintainable, and scalable backend systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing design patterns and establishing code quality standards
• Exposure to advanced data pipeline technologies and AI-powered search workflows
• Knowledge of web servers and distributed system architectures at scale
• Experience coordinating frontend-backend-AI workflows during feature development
• Familiarity with advanced observability tools and production debugging
• Proven ability to attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent
• Background in building high-performing, collaborative engineering cultures
• Experience with agile methodologies and sprint-based delivery models
