Role Overview: Engineering Lead (AI & Agent Development) We’re hiring an Engineering Lead specializing in AI and autonomous agents to drive the technical vision, design, and execution of our agent-driven AI workflows. In this role, you’ll lead a team of engineers and collaborate closely with AI/ML scientists, platform developers, and healthcare domain experts to build intelligent agents that power Nimblemind’s core AI systems. You will architect scalable solutions that enable agents to reason across multimodal clinical data, orchestrate complex pipelines, and enhance human-in-the-loop decision-making at scale.

This is a leadership position for someone passionate about shaping next-generation agentic AI architectures while guiding a talented team in a high-impact healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Define the strategy and roadmap for agent development across Nimblemind’s AI platform.
• Architect scalable, secure, and explainable agent systems for healthcare applications.
• Lead design reviews and establish engineering best practices around orchestration frameworks, reasoning chains, and tool integration.

Agent Development & Integration

• Oversee the design and implementation of autonomous agents for tasks such as feature curation, pipeline orchestration, and model validation.
• Drive integration of LLM-based agents with retrieval systems, structured inputs, and downstream ML pipelines.
• Ensure seamless interaction between agents and modeling services (e.g., Vertex AI pipelines, monitoring and evaluation scripts).

Team Management & Mentorship

• Build and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on AI agents and intelligent automation.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Set clear goals, guide prioritization, and ensure delivery of high-quality, high-impact solutions.

Tooling, Monitoring & Reliability

• Champion the development of agent observability tools, logging pipelines, and performance benchmarks.
• Lead initiatives around testing frameworks, safety protocols, and failure-mode detection.
• Partner with clinical and product stakeholders to design robust human-in-the-loop workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams building AI or agentic systems.
• Deep understanding of orchestration frameworks, chain-of-thought reasoning, and multi-step workflows.
• Hands-on experience with cloud AI/ML platforms (e.g., GCP, Vertex AI, LangChain) and agent toolkits (AgentBuilder, AutoGen, LangGraph, CrewAI).
• Track record of building scalable, production-grade AI systems that integrate structured and unstructured data.
• Familiarity with healthcare data modalities (EMR, clinical notes, device data) is highly desirable.
• Strong background in designing evaluation methods for agent performance, reliability, and interpretability.
