Responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining stringent quality assurance processes for wire and cable harness manufacturing to ensure zero-defect production.
Lead quality assurance activities at in-process stages for wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and UAV electronics components.
Ensure strict compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards for inspection of wire harnesses, cable assemblies, crimping, soldering, routing, lacing, shielding, and workmanship.
Apply IPC-A-610 standards wherever applicable for PCB assemblies, solder joints, connector interfaces, and workmanship acceptance.
Develop, review, and control quality inspection plans, control plans, process flow diagrams, and inspection checklists for harness manufacturing processes.
Define critical-to-quality (CTQ) parameters for wire harness processes including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, termination, over-molding, continuity testing, and final assembly.
Establish and monitor in-process quality checkpoints to prevent defects from flowing to downstream operations.
Perform and validate electrical tests such as continuity, insulation resistance, hipot (if applicable), polarity, and functional checks.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for internal defects and customer returns using structured quality tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and 8D methodologies.
Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure effectiveness verification to eliminate repeat issues.
Prepare and present monthly KPI reports and quality performance projections to the Head of Quality, highlighting risks, trends, and improvement actions.
Support process audits, product audits, and workmanship audits to ensure sustained compliance with IPC and internal quality standards.
Train, guide, and mentor inspectors, technicians, and operators on IPC standards, workmanship expectations, and defect prevention.
Support New Product Development (NPD) and process changes by defining quality requirements, inspection methods, and acceptance criteria.
Ensure maintenance of complete and accurate quality documentation and records, including inspection reports, defect logs, audit reports, CAPA records, and KPI dashboards.
Ensure adherence to company QA procedures, customer quality requirements, and applicable aerospace / automotive / industrial standards as relevant.
Act as a quality interface with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Teams to resolve quality issues effectively.
Participate in internal and external audits and support compliance to ISO 9001 / AS9100D quality management systems (as applicable).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction, process capability improvement, and workmanship excellence.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
7–8+ years of hands-on experience in wire harness or cable assembly manufacturing quality assurance roles.
Strong working knowledge and hands-on application of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-A-610 standards.
Proven experience in defining quality processes, KPI management, zero-defect initiatives, and structured quality reporting.
Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
