Basic Function: Under minimal supervision of more senior engineering staff, assists in the planning, design and development of technical standards for gas distribution infrastructure projects. This position is typically assigned to perform basic tasks and analysis on larger projects or perform standard tasks on all phases of smaller projects.
Higher grade levels will work independently on complex assignments. Tasks assigned to a more senior Engineer often involve the consistent recognition and development of new or improved products/processes or techniques that significantly impact how Virginia Natural Gas does business on a daily basis.
This position is being posted as part of a job family. The position may be filled at either the Engineer I, II or III level. Team Members who demonstrate advanced skills in terms of work experience, education and certifications may be eligible for the advanced grade.

Exposure to all types of weather
Travel: 20% - 25%
Periodic Field Presence at Construction Sites, Municipals, Permit Offices etc.
Field exposure will allow the successful candidate to review work designs and engage with clients, customers and vendors
Hybrid work schedule, in the office/on-site, 3 days per week and is subject to change at any time for business needs
