What You’ll Accomplish:
Design and build advanced test rigs for electrical and mechanical characterization of quantum devices
Develop meticulous test plans and protocols for validating device performance
Conduct experimental validation and characterization of electronics systems to meet stringent performance requirements for quantum hardware
Collaborate with device designers and electronics engineers to improve test coverage and ensure compatibility with emerging quantum chip architectures
Critically evaluate testing methodologies and propose improvements for efficiency and accuracy
Document test procedures, results, and findings for reproducibility and knowledge sharing
The 3 Most Critical Attributes We’ll Use to Compare Candidates:
Must-have Skills:
PCB layout and schematic design using ECAD tools (e.g., Altium)
Mechanical CAD proficiency for fixture and rig design
Strong technical writing and documentation skills
Familiarity with test/electronics equipment (multiplexers, VNA, TDR, oscilloscopes)
Nice-to-have Skills:
Experience cryogenic temperatures and testing sensitive quantum devices
Background in RF engineering, metrology, or instrumentation
Experience developing automated testing frameworks using scripting languages (Python, MATLAB)
Familiarity with LabVIEW for experimental setups
Understanding EMC and high-speed digital design constraints in quantum systems
