blueOASIS is a young and growing company focused on developing sustainable solutions for the protection of the oceans. blueOASIS operates in four main areas: numerical analysis for offshore energies and ships, underwater acoustics, intelligent ocean modelling and sensing, and digital twins. We are also developing an innovative Digital Ocean Twin platform: www.hydrotwin.ai. Our team is now looking for an Electronics Technician to support the assembly, integration and preparation of systems within the scope of Hydrotwin and R&D activities.
Function Description
Electronics technician with experience in assembly, integration and testing of electronic systems. The role is focused on the construction, preparation and maintenance of blueOASIS' sensing systems, including buoys and other equipment for marine applications. The work includes assembling hardware, soldering components, reading electrical schematics, integrating sensors, and preparing and updating internal systems and equipment intended for customers.
The technician will work closely with the electronics, software and acoustics teams, ensuring the reliability of the systems in a real environment.
Responsibilities
- Assembly and integration of electronic systems and sensors
- Component welding and system wiring
- Reading and interpretation of electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Buoy and sensor preparation, configuration, and upgrade
- Testing, diagnosis and troubleshooting of electronic systems
- Support in the mechanical assembly of systems (including housings and structures)
- Operation of manufacturing tools such as 3D printing and CNC
- Support in test campaigns and field work (when necessary)
- Material organization, stock management and logistical support
Requirements:
- Minimum education 12th grade, preferably with training in electromechanics, electrician or industrial maintenance
- Hands-on experience in electronic circuit assembly and soldering
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Basic computer skills (system configuration, updates, diagnostics)
- Ability to identify and resolve hardware issues
- Knowledge of 3D and/or CNC printing
- Autonomy, sense of responsibility and attention to detail
Valued (not mandatory):
- Eligible for IEFP internships
- Experience with marine or offshore systems
- Experience in fieldwork or maritime environment
- Experience with environmental sensors or data acquisition systems
- Networking or communications basics
- Good knowledge of English
Conditions:
- Face-to-face work in Torres Vedras (with occasional visits to our office in Horta, Faial)
- 40 hours per week
- 1-year contract with trial period, renewable upon performance
- 23 days of vacation
- Flexible vacation arrangement, with the possibility of up to 35 days
