Omni Instrument is building autonomous manufacturing tools that combine computer vision, precision actuation, and advanced edge hardware. We need an Electronics Engineer who can take ownership of power electronics and system level integration across our tool stack. You will work across battery systems, high current switching, sensing, and compact board design while partnering with our mechatronics, robotics, and software teams.
This role is hands on. You will design, test, debug, and integrate electronics that drive our actuators and support our perception systems. You will work directly with Jetson Orin Nano and Orin NX hardware, custom motor controllers, and tightly packaged embedded subsystems.
You will
- Design and integrate power electronics for high current loads in the 20 to 40 amp range.
- Develop battery management and battery integration solutions for our handheld and embedded systems.
- Select and design switching components, smoothing networks, filters, and protection circuits.
- Mitigate EMI and design for clean power under noisy operating conditions.
- Own system level electronics architecture, including power regulation, sensors, displays, triggers, and switching hardware.
- Integrate and test communication interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, and HDMI.
- Work with our team to support three phase motor control, precision current measurement, and encoder based state estimation.
- Create PCB designs ranging from small peripheral boards to integrated control assemblies.
You have
- Experience with power electronics and switching hardware in the 20 to 40 amp range.
- Working knowledge of battery systems and battery management approaches.
- Understanding of EMI sources and practical mitigation techniques.
- Experience designing low voltage power regulation circuits using linear and switching regulators.
- Comfort integrating displays, triggers, switches, connectors, MOSFETs, and mixed signal interfaces.
- Confidence designing PCBs for real products and not just prototypes.
- Fluency with I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, and similar communication protocols.
- A mindset for system level architecture and clean integration across mechanical and software boundaries.
Bonus
- Experience with motor control, three phase power electronics, or field oriented control.
- Experience with precision current sensing or encoder interfaces.
- Familiarity with Jetson Orin hardware or similar embedded compute modules.
- Background working in robotics, sensing, or advanced actuation systems.
