TrekAi is a K–12 AI education platform built by educators, for educators. With a suite of 40+ AI-powered tools — spanning lesson planning, IEP generation, curriculum alignment, and real-time student progress monitoring — TrekAi gives teachers back the time they need to focus on students. Our platform operates within a fully FERPA- and COPPA-compliant environment where student safety isn't a feature — it's the foundation. TrekAi is now serving thousands of educators across hundreds of schools on five continents, and we're just getting started.
The role:
As TrekAi's Sales Development Representative, you'll be the first point of contact for school districts and independent schools across the country. Your job is to open doors — identifying the right decision-makers, sparking genuine conversations, and booking qualified meetings for our Account Executives. This is an outbound-first role for someone who's energized by education, thrives on building relationships from cold, and wants a clear path into a full-cycle AE role.
What you'll do:
-Prospect and engage decision-makers at school districts and independent schools — superintendents, curriculum directors, principals, and technology coordinators — through cold outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn
-Qualify inbound leads and route them to the right AE with the context needed to run a great first call
-Craft personalized outreach sequences that speak to the real challenges educators face — not generic sales copy
-Research target accounts to identify the right entry points and tailor messaging to each school or district's context
-Maintain clean, accurate activity and pipeline data in CRM and consistently hit weekly activity and meeting targets
-Share market and buyer intel with the sales and marketing teams to sharpen messaging and targeting over time
What we're looking for
-2+ years of SDR, BDR, or outbound sales experience — education or edtech experience is a strong plus
-Genuine interest in education — you understand why what happens in a classroom matters and can speak authentically to educators
-Strong written and verbal communicator who can craft concise, compelling outreach that earns a response
-Organized, self-disciplined, and consistent — you hit your numbers without needing to be micromanaged
-Comfortable working in an early-stage environment where processes are still being built and your input shapes how things work
Nice to have
-Experience prospecting into school districts, independent schools, or charter networks
-Familiarity with how schools make purchasing decisions — academic calendars, budget cycles, and approval processes
-Background as a teacher, tutor, or in any school-facing role
-Experience with sales engagement tools (Seamless, HubSpot, etc)
Why TrekAi
-Join a high-growth edtech company at an inflection point — a real opportunity to grow into an AE role as we scale
-Represent a product that measurably improves teacher wellbeing and student outcomes — this is mission-driven selling
-Competitive base + commission, and full benefits
-Work alongside a team of educators and technologists who deeply understand the market you're selling into
