Wakefield BioChar is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Dozer Operator to support daily operations at the PCA Mill in Valdosta, GA. This position is responsible for operating dozers and related heavy equipment to move, grade, and manage biochar materials and raw inputs safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong equipment handling skills, attention to safety, and the ability to work independently in an industrial environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate a dozer to move, stockpile, spread, and load biochar materials.
- Maintain proper grading and material management within the work yard and production areas.
- Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and general material handling.
- Conduct daily pre-shift and post-shift inspections of equipment.
- Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Follow all OSHA, site-specific, and company safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with plant personnel, truck drivers, and supervisors.
- Maintain accurate production and equipment operation records as required.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and hazard-free.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating a dozer or similar heavy equipment.
- Experience in industrial, mill, forestry, agriculture, or manufacturing environments preferred.
- Ability to operate equipment safely in tight or active production areas.
- Understanding of grading, stockpiling, and material flow processes.
- Strong awareness of workplace safety standards.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
- Ability to climb in and out of heavy equipment multiple times per shift.
- Ability to work in dusty, loud, and industrial environments.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs when needed.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position
- Overtime may be required based on production demands
- Weekend or shift work may be required
