Overview

Stream is looking for a hands-on Director of Information Security to lead initiatives on security, privacy, and compliance. This role requires someone who thrives in a high-impact environment, focusing on building and running security controls, steering the compliance roadmap, and collaborating with sales and legal teams.

Responsibilities

• Security Strategy & Leadership:

  • Own and drive security strategy aligned with Stream's business objectives and product roadmap.
  • Advise executive leadership on security risks and investments.
  • Champion a security-first mindset across the team.

• Compliance, Risk & Governance:

  • Oversee Stream's Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Ensure compliance with global privacy regulations, including GDPR and HIPAA.

• Engineering & Architecture Collaboration:

  • Partner with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to embed security into system design and cloud architecture (primarily AWS).
  • Lead incident response planning and execution.

• Customer Trust & Commercial Support:

  • Act as the go-to expert for customer security questions or audit requests.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Sales to shape contracts and handle security reviews.

• Vendor & Third-Party Oversight:

  • Vet and monitor third-party tools and partners for security compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in information security, with 5+ years in a leadership role within B2B SaaS or API-centric companies.
• Proven experience building and scaling security programs in fast-paced environments.
• Deep understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST) and privacy laws (GDPR, HIPAA).
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments, especially AWS, and modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Track record of successful audit preparations and compliance operations.

• Experience with compliance automation platforms like Drata, Sprinto, or Vanta.
• Background in developer-focused or API companies.
• Knowledge of product privacy design and integration into development lifecycles.
