About Mytra We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.
About The Role Mytra’s Engineering team is looking for a dynamic and strategic systems leader for our Electrical Engineering team as we bring warehouse robotics innovation to scale.
As the Director of Electrical Engineering, you’ll own the electrical architecture for our core products, including robots and operator stations. This role requires technical excellence, strategic vision, pragmatism, and flexibility, and the ability to drive complex systems from concept through mass production. You'll exercise a wide latitude in setting objectives, technical roadmaps, and long-term strategies while serving as a key technical leader for the organization. You'll establish processes and frameworks that accelerate development cycles.
This role requires on-site presence at our Brisbane, CA headquarters, for close collaboration with the other teams.
Responsibilities
Lead and grow a world-class electrical engineering team capable of executing complex programs on ambitious timelines. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful delivery of our products for deployment at scale
Lead the electrical architecture and development for the bots, including motion control, sensing, power distribution, communication systems, etc.
Lead the development of electrical systems for operator stations that enable the interface between warehouse operators and the Mytra system
Drive product scaling for reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost reduction
Set strategy for architecture evolution and critical components roadmaps
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, program, firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, to ensure that products are built to spec and built right, minimizing revision needs
Establish strategic relationships with key partners and suppliers
Support the Electrical Engineering team and the larger organization by identifying gaps and developing frameworks, processes, and tools to accelerate development cycles such as:
bringing best practices to accelerate design maturity
setting testing protocols
integrating functionalities to reduce cost
testing early to retire risk
establishing internal release standards
Identify opportunities and foster innovation, learning, and continuous improvement within the Electrical Engineering team and across the organization
