The role reports to the Director of Design, however, as we are a full-stack company with a pretty flat hierarchy, you will often find yourself working closely with our Product and Marketing teams.

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to shadow, learn, and assist the design team in:

• Reimagining medical experiences following the consumer patterns
• Supporting the entire design process, from gathering user insights to creating wireframes, mockups, prototypes, testing, and iterating.
• Guarantee a strong and consistent experience throughout the Empatica physical and digital touchpoints, including packaging system, material system, etc
• Supporting teams & stakeholders with service design tools and best practise, in order to smooth and keep alignment between different teams and stakeholders
• Working on the design and overall UX of the Empatica website.

Some important details:

• Empatica is an international environment with offices in Europe, the US, and Korea; therefore, we conduct all our work in English.
• The Intern should be able to work from our Milan office.
• The role is full-time and requires availability for 3 to 12 months.

Requirements

You are the ideal person for the Design Internship role if you have:

• A completed degree in Design, Visual Arts, or a relevant field, with a strong focus on graphic and communications design
• Basic understanding of design principles, user experience methods, and tools such as Figma and Adobe suite
• Good design and aesthetic skills as well as analytical mindset. You are able to apply good design practices across a wide range of projects, from web to print
• Strong interest in UI/UX design, digital products, and user-centered design principles.
• An inherent ability to think in systems
• A passion for Empatica’s products and mission
• Resilience, a get-things-done attitude, and an innate desire to do great work
• Excellent communication skills in English (Italian not needed)
• Nice-to-have: Some video experience
• Some previous experience as a designer is appreciated
