Role Overview
Design & Analysis Engineer with strong capabilities in concept development, product design, 3D CAD modeling, mechanism design, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
The role involves developing robust engineering solutions for aerospace and automotive applications, from early concept through validation and manufacturing support.
The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with practical design judgment and analytical rigor.
Key Responsibilities
Concept & Product Design
- Translate functional and performance requirements into feasible engineering concepts
- Develop system architecture, define load paths, and establish design philosophy
- Perform trade studies considering performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability
- Support new product development from concept to detailed design
- UI/UX design ensuring aesthetics & ease of assembly, operation
CAD & 3D Modeling
- Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using CAD tools.
- Generate 2D drawings with GD&T and manufacturing annotations
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency
- Manage design revisions and engineering documentation
Mechanism Design
- Design and validate mechanisms such as linkages, adjustment systems, actuators, sliding/rotating assemblies
- Perform kinematic studies to ensure smooth motion, repeatability, and determine design loads
- Address tolerance stack-up, wear, durability, and reliability in moving systems
Engineering Analysis (FEA)
- Perform structural FEA for static, dynamic, and fatigue load cases
- Define realistic boundary conditions and loading scenarios
- Interpret results to drive design optimization and risk mitigation
Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, testing, and supply chain teams
- Support prototype build, testing, and validation activities
- Troubleshoot design and production issues using structured problem-solving
- Contribute to continuous improvement in engineering processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Technical Skills
- Strong fundamentals in strength of materials and machine design
- Knowledge in mechanism design and kinematics
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (CATIA / SolidWorks)
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS or equivalent)
- Knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing processes, and material selection
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Clear technical communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
- Structured approach to engineering documentation
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience in aerospace or automotive product development
- Exposure to certification-driven design environments
- Experience with prototype testing and validation
- Knowledge of fatigue, vibration, and durability engineering
