Job Title: Derivatives Analyst
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite)
Contract Duration: 7 Months
Pay Rate Range: $25.00 - $28.98/hr. on W2
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Job Purpose (Job Summary):
- Responsibilities include trade processing, confirmation, clearing, collateral, lifecycle management, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting, including oversight of third-party vendors.
- This role exercises independent judgment while researching and resolving time critical inquiries and risk sensitive issues.
- The incumbent is expected to develop an advanced level of derivative knowledge, proactively build, and develop relationships with internal and external business partners and work within a continuous improvement and risk mitigation culture.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Operations
- Provides timely and accurate business support for all derivative trade activity, life cycle management, and settlements including third-party messaging to custodians, fund accounting agents and other interested parties.
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- Must have at least 1-3 years working experience in the investment industry.
- Working knowledge of exchange traded (ETD), cleared, and over the counter (OTC) derivatives, collateral, and life cycle events.
Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:
- Interpersonal and relationship skills are necessary to maintain productive relationships and interact effectively with a variety of individuals, teams, and vendors across different business functions.
- Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment, demonstrate problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must demonstrate the ability to make quick decisions, establish priorities and at times work in a fast-paced environment. This includes the ability to handle time critical situations while meeting deadlines.
- Must have the ability to analyze numerical data, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and be able to work within a continuous process improvement culture.
Formal Education:
- A Bachelor's Degree in accounting, economics, finance, math or related field or a combination of education, training and industry experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
License / Registration / Certification:
- None required.
- A willingness to continue professional development and industry relevant training.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, and temperatures.
- Normally works a regular schedule of hours; however, hours may vary depending upon the project, assignment, or daily trade activity.
- Hours may occasionally include evenings, weekends, and/or public/exchange holidays.
- Limitations to vacation request due to business requirements.
