Focus: Design and operationalize the data governance framework

Must‑have experience

6-10+ years in Data Governance / Information Governance
Designing and rolling out policies, standards, stewardship, decision rights, RACI
Standing up operating forums (SteerCo/Working Groups) and measurable KPIs
Metadata strategy (business glossary, data dictionary), classification & lifecycle standards
Partnering with Security, Records, Architecture to align controls and retention

Core skills

Governance framework design (roles, processes, workflows)
Metadata & catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Purview, Informatica), policy authoring
Data quality concepts (dimensions, rules, monitoring, issue mgmt.)
Strong facilitation, consensus building, and executive stakeholder engagement

Nice to have

Public sector / higher‑ed governance experience; familiarity with retention schedules
KPI/OKR design for governance adoption & compliance
Certifications: DAMA (CDMP), DCAM, CGOC/IGP/CIP, or similar
