As a Cost Engineer at Zoox, you will support the Vehicle Program team by taking ownership of the vehicle Bill of Materials cost and investments. You will partner with engineering teams across the entire Vehicle Development organization to ensure every component is designed with cost, quality and scalability in mind. Your work will directly influence program decisions and ensure Zoox can deliver world-class technology at the right value.

In this role, you will:

• • Own detailed cost modeling and “should-cost” estimates for Vehicle Development using tools like aPriori
  • Partner with Vehicle Engineering teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction
  • Track program costs in relation to targets, budgets and business cases throughout the development process
  • Provide cost insights to support program gates, reviews and decision-making for trade-offs
  • Analyze how engineering changes, materials and processes impact the overall cost of the vehicle

Qualifications

• • BS or MS in Engineering
  • At least 6 years of experience in Cost Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or Business Operations
  • Proven analytical skills with experience in cost modeling and estimation
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems and components, with experience at an automotive OEM and/or Tier 1 supplier
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Bonus Qualifications

• • MBA or MS in Finance
  • Experience with SAP S/4Hana, Anaplan or similar cost analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with Polarion, Jira and Confluence

$140,000 - $219,000 a year

Base Salary Range

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
