Job Responsibilities
- Design, improve and develop control systems and architectures for Fusion, our bowl assembly robot, as well as other mechatronics systems
- Working with mechanical design and software engineers to implement control schemes
- Take ownership of control-related performance characteristics of all hardware, from conveyor stopping accuracy, to mass dispensing capabilities to sensor implementation
- Work with existing and upcoming clients to ensure menu/ingredient compatibility and performance within Fusion
- Responsible for validating progression and performance in the real world, through test-rigs, deployed robots etc
Required Skills
- Experience with system identification of real world dynamical systems
- Extensive experience deploying control systems / architectures to real world hardware - beyond simulation
- Deep knowledge and understanding of controllers, beyond PID
- Experience with working with raw sensor data, and knowledge of signal processing
- Some experience with simulation
- Broad understanding and appreciation for complex mechatronics systems as a whole
Preferred Skills
- Worked in or surrounding robotics applications
- Complementary electronics knowledge, extending to PCB design
