Join our team as a Compliance & Security Intern .

The Compliance & Security Intern will be a detail-oriented, proactive individual with foundational knowledge in compliance, risk, and security management. This position provides hands-on experience in a regulated medical technology environment, supporting initiatives that ensure data protection, regulatory adherence, and operational integrity across the company’s healthcare technology products.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and updating documentation for security policies, privacy frameworks, and compliance controls (HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53).
• Support internal audits, risk assessments, and incident response documentation under guidance from the Compliance and Security leads.
• Track compliance tasks, vendor assessments, and third-party security attestations, ensuring timely completion and accurate recordkeeping.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Quality, and Legal—to collect evidence, document findings, and strengthen internal processes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (completed or in progress) in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Prior internship or practical experience in compliance, security, IT audit, or risk management.
• Strong understanding of data privacy and security fundamentals.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or similar productivity tools.
• Must be available to work full-time, in-person at our San Francisco, CA office.

Desired Experience

• Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or other compliance frameworks.
• Experience working with security monitoring tools, risk registers, or policy management systems.
• Exposure to healthcare or other regulated industries.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Interest in growing within compliance, privacy, or cybersecurity domains.
