Overview
Vennote Technologies is seeking a highly skilled
Cloud Engineer
for a strategic 6-month contract to spearhead complex infrastructure migration projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of moving enterprise workloads from legacy on-premise environments to the cloud, as well as executing seamless cloud-to-cloud migrations. You will play a critical role in our digital transformation initiatives, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.

Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or CKA) are highly preferred.
Familiarity with
ITIL v4
service management processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under tight project deadlines.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.

End-to-End Migration:
Lead the assessment, planning, and execution of
on-premise to cloud
(Azure/HCS) and
cloud-to-cloud
migrations.
Virtualization:
Migrate Workloads from VMWare on premise cloud to public cloud platforms.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts using tools like
Ansible
, Terraform, or CloudFormation to ensure consistent and repeatable infrastructure.
Containerization & Orchestration:
Manage and scale containerized applications using
Kubernetes
and
OpenShift
environments.
Hybrid Connectivity:
Configure and manage VPNs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, and software-defined networking to bridge on-premise data centers with cloud resources.
Performance Optimization:
Conduct post-migration validation to ensure systems are optimized for cost, speed, and reliability.
Security & Compliance:
Implement security best practices (IAM, encryption, VPC peering) in alignment with
ISO 27001
standards and IT governance frameworks.
Disaster Recovery:
Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies for migrated workloads.
Cloud Platforms:
Expert-level proficiency in at least two major cloud providers (Microsoft Azure, or Huawei Cloud Stack).
Migration Tools:
Experience with migration services such as AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), Azure Migrate, or Carbonite.
Automation:
Deep experience with
Ansible
for configuration management and automation.
Container Platforms:
Strong hands-on experience with
Kubernetes
or
Red Hat OpenShift
.
Operating Systems:
Advanced knowledge of Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration.
Networking:
Strong understanding of DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls, and CIDR blocks.
