As a Cloud – Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing and developing the Corsano Cloud backend. You will build and maintain APIs and services that ingest, process, store, and expose high-frequency physiological data from thousands of patients. You’ll work closely with our mobile, firmware, data science, and clinical teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing solutions. This position is involved in processing health information and requires a strong focus on privacy, security, and robustness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs for ingesting, processing, and exposing wearable sensor data at scale.
• Develop and operate cloud-native solutions on AWS, using best practices for reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement and maintain security-by-design in line with ISO 27001, including IAM, encryption in transit and at rest, logging, monitoring, and access controls.
• Build and optimize data pipelines for near real-time and batch processing of vital signs and events.
• Own services end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
• Contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code setups.
• Collaborate closely with mobile, firmware, data science, and product teams to define technical requirements and interfaces.
• Work with our Quality & Regulatory teams to ensure proper documentation, change control, and compliance with medical device and security standards.
• Troubleshoot issues in production and continuously improve performance, resilience, and developer experience.

Who We're Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience as a backend or cloud engineer, preferably in a SaaS or data-intensive environment.
• Strong programming skills in one or more backend languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, or Go).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, ECS/EKS or Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM).
• Experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs; experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., SQS, SNS, Kafka/Kinesis).
• Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL datastores.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and, ideally, orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS).
• Familiarity with information security, secure coding practices, and standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR and HIPAA.
• Comfortable with CI/CD tools and automated testing (unit, integration, and load testing).
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
