Bestgate Engineering is seeking a System Administrator to support cloud-based infrastructure and enterprise IT systems. This role focuses on maintaining RedHat Linux environments within AWS, ensuring system security and compliance, and supporting day-to-day operations across client, server, and network systems.
The engineer will provide hands-on support for system administration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance while working closely with development and DevOps teams. This role requires strong experience with Linux systems, cloud environments, and operational support across a mission-focused enterprise.
What You’ll Do:
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot RedHat Linux systems in AWS environments
- Support day-to-day operations across servers, storage, and networked systems
- Apply patches, upgrades, and security updates (IAVA compliance)
- Perform system monitoring, backups, and validation
- Deploy applications, tools, and monitoring solutions
- Support Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting, including escalations
- Work closely with DevOps and development teams to keep systems running smoothly
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years of System Administration experience
- Strong Linux (RedHat) and command line experience
- Experience working in AWS or cloud-based infrastructure
- Familiarity with system patching, security compliance, and troubleshooting across enterprise environments
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree)
- Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph

Pay: $145,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year
