Position:  Civil & Structural Designer / Draughtsperson

Employment Type:  6‑month contract (with potential to extend)

Location:  Rivonia, Johannesburg, South Africa

Reporting To:  Lead Civil & Structural Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Civil & Structural Designer / Draughtsperson on behalf of our client to support project delivery in Rivonia. The role is suited to candidates with 7–10 years of experience who can combine design understanding with strong modelling and draughting capabilities. The position is initially offered on a 6‑month contract with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D models and drawings for civil and structural components using AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or Tekla.
• Interpret engineering designs, sketches, and specifications to produce accurate construction drawings.
• Assist with design coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards, client specifications, and industry codes.
• Manage drawing registers and document control processes.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into drawing revisions.
• Support the engineering team with design calculations and technical documentation as required.
• Conduct site visits for verification and measurement when necessary.

Education & Experience:

• National Diploma or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Relevant draughting certification or equivalent experience.
• 7–10 years’ experience in structural or civil draughting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Tekla, or similar software.
• Experience in industrial, petrochemical, or mining projects is advantageous.
• Understanding of reinforced concrete and structural steel detailing.
