About Genvor

The Opportunity

Genvor is seeking a Chief Scientific Officer to lead the scientific strategy and execution with a primary focus on our human health and wellness peptide pipeline along with agricultural applications as a secondary focus. Working alongside our CEO who brings extensive agricultural experience, you will focus specifically on translating our BioCypher platform discoveries into commercially viable human health applications while navigating supplement and wellness product regulatory frameworks.

This is a build-and-scale role for an accomplished biotech leader with deep peptide science expertise and proven experience in supplement/wellness product development. You will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for advancing our human health pipeline from discovery through validation and commercial readiness, while supporting strategic partnerships and business development initiatives across both sectors.

This represents a unique opportunity to build a leading peptide-based human health platform within an established, publicly traded biotechnology company with proven success in agricultural applications. You will leverage our validated BioCypher platform, which has already demonstrated commercial traction in crop protection and agricultural biologicals, to unlock new opportunities in human health and wellness. You will have the resources and partnership foundation to scale innovative peptide discoveries into multiple commercial applications while working alongside experienced leadership with deep agricultural expertise and established industry relationships. Location & Work Environment

This is a remote position with regular travel to our Woodland, California headquarters and partner research locations as needed. The role offers significant autonomy and flexibility while maintaining close collaboration with our CEO and executive team.

Human Health Pipeline Leadership: Direct the development and advancement of peptides for human performance, recovery, and wellness applications. Oversee the translation of BioCypher platform discoveries into development candidates suitable for nutraceutical, dietary supplement, and therapeutic applications. Ensure robust scientific validation and positioning for multiple delivery modalities including nasal delivery systems and oral formulations.

Regulatory Strategy & Compliance: Design and oversee validation studies that support product safety, efficacy, and commercial positioning. Establish robust safety profiles and mechanism of action research for peptide-based wellness applications. Lead partnerships with contract research organizations and testing facilities to advance product development and support marketing claims.

Translational Science Excellence: Bridge discovery science with clinical application through robust translational research programs. Design and oversee validation studies, biomarker development, and mechanism of action research that supports product claims and regulatory positioning. Establish partnerships with clinical research organizations and academic institutions to advance human studies and clinical validation.

Strategic Partnerships & Business Development: Serve as the primary scientific voice for the Company, licensing discussions, and strategic collaborations. Support business development efforts by providing scientific due diligence, technical assessments, and strategic guidance on partnership opportunities in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, and wellness sectors.

Team Development & Leadership: Build and lead a focused scientific team specializing in peptide development. Foster a culture of scientific excellence, regulatory compliance, and commercial awareness while maintaining the agility and speed required in a growth-stage public company environment.

Education & Experience: Terminal degree with 15+ years in commercialization, regulatory, and compliance experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical development focused on human health applications. Demonstrated track record in managerial positions in agriculture or pharmaceutical industry within the last 5-10 years, preferably with experience advancing products from discovery through market launch or commercial validation.

Core Expertise: Deep experience with peptide science, protein engineering, or platform-based discovery models. Proven expertise in dietary supplement development and wellness product commercialization. Strong background in product development with demonstrated ability to bridge laboratory research with consumer product applications and commercial development.

Regulatory & Clinical Experience: Experience with dietary supplement regulatory requirements and wellness product development pathways. Familiarity with nutraceutical and dietary supplement regulatory frameworks, with specific knowledge of peptide-based product development and commercialization requirements for consumer wellness applications.

Leadership & Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and translate scientific innovation into commercial outcomes. Experience supporting business development, licensing activities, and strategic partnerships. Strong communication skills with ability to present complex scientific data to diverse stakeholders including investors and partners.

Industry Background: Experience in startup or growth-stage biotech companies, preferably with exposure to platform-based discovery models. Background in companies developing products for consumer health, wellness, or performance markets is highly preferred. Advanced business training or MBA is a plus.
