The study of these effects hinges on characterizing the dose dependent effect of these molecules. This requires the design and implementation of screening methods for different candidates.

They have been associated with enhanced extracellular matrix (ECM) production as well as modulation of cell motility. These molecules can regulate cell migration depending on their structure, dose, and the cellular environment.
