Role Description
We’re hiring a Buyer / Purchasing Specialist .
This role is for someone who can manage procurement across machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and services needed to support day-to-day operations.
The right candidate should be comfortable working with suppliers, reviewing purchase requisitions, managing purchase orders, supporting bid proposals, monitoring shipments, and helping resolve supplier or delivery issues.
Key responsibilities include:
• Review, evaluate, and optimize suppliers based on price, quality, availability, service, support, and overall value
• Approve purchase orders and ensure purchases are made at the right price, quality, and quantity
• Solicit and review supplier bids and proposals
• Work with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues related to defective, delayed, or unacceptable goods/services
• Support negotiation, renegotiation, and administration of supplier contracts
• Monitor supplier and contract performance to ensure compliance with obligations
• Track shipments and help resolve undelivered or delayed goods
What we’re looking for:
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or finance-related roles
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals, and technical data
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
• Knowledge of purchasing laws, regulations, and supply chain management
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
• Professional certification in Purchasing and/or Inventory Management, such as CIPS, or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of facility procurement procedures and processes
• Experience with QAD and/or SAP ERP systems
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley procedures and controls
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools, especially Power BI
