Business Head - Mining
About the Role
Mining is Skylark Drones' largest and most mature business vertical, serving leading coal, iron ore, limestone, and critical mineral operators across India. Over the last several years, Skylark has built deep customer relationships, proven deployments, and a strong market position across mine surveying, volumetric reconciliation, blast monitoring, slope stability, and operational intelligence.
We are looking for a Business Head to lead and scale this vertical as an independent business unit. This role carries end-to-end responsibility for strategy, revenue growth, profitability, market expansion, customer success, and team development.
This is not a regional sales leadership role. It is a business-building mandate with full ownership of one of the company's most strategic growth engines.
As India accelerates commercial mining, critical mineral development, and digital transformation across mining operations, this leader will define how Skylark expands its market leadership and creates the next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership & P&L Ownership
- Own the Mining business with accountability for revenue, margins, forecasting, and long-term growth
- Build and execute the strategic plan for the vertical, aligned with company objectives
- Drive predictable revenue growth while improving profitability and operational efficiency
- Identify and launch new growth opportunities across software, analytics, monitoring, inspections, and recurring subscription services
- Develop a multi-year roadmap for market leadership and category expansion
Strategic Customer Growth
- Strengthen relationships with existing enterprise customers and expand wallet share across active deployments
- Drive large, multi-site and multi-year engagements across public and private mining organizations
- Build trusted relationships with CXOs, business heads, mine operators, planning teams, procurement leaders, and technical stakeholders
- Position Skylark as a long-term strategic partner rather than a transactional service provider
Market Expansion
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies across coal, iron ore, limestone, non-ferrous, and critical mineral segments
- Expand Skylark's presence across mining PSUs, private mining companies, EPC contractors, consultants, and ecosystem partners
- Identify emerging opportunities driven by digitization, ESG requirements, automation, safety, and operational productivity
- Stay ahead of regulatory developments, DGMS guidelines, government initiatives, and industry trends
Team Building & Organizational Scale
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performance team across sales, pre-sales, customer success, and account management
- Establish scalable operating rhythms, sales processes, forecasting mechanisms, and performance metrics
- Develop future leaders within the Mining business
- Foster a culture of ownership, customer-centricity, and commercial excellence
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Product, Operations, Delivery, and Leadership teams to drive customer outcomes
- Influence product roadmap, pricing strategy, solution design, and commercial models
- Ensure successful execution and adoption across enterprise deployments
- Act as the voice of the customer and market within the organization
Who We Are Looking For
Experience
- 12-18+ years of leadership experience in enterprise B2B sales, business development, or business management
- Proven success leading a business unit, vertical, profit centre, or large enterprise sales organization
- Demonstrated ownership of revenue, profitability, forecasting, and growth targets
- Experience building and scaling teams in complex enterprise environments
- Strong track record of winning and growing large strategic accounts
Industry Expertise
- Deep understanding of mining, metals, heavy industry, industrial technology, infrastructure, engineering services, or adjacent sectors
- Established relationships across mining operators, government enterprises, consultants, EPC companies, and industry stakeholders
- Familiarity with mine planning, surveying, operational workflows, and regulatory frameworks
- Ability to connect technology investments to measurable operational and financial outcomes
