About the role
The
Business Solutions Lead
acts as the strategic bridge between the firm’s business functions and its change and technology delivery teams. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working, translating business needs into implementable solutions that enhance efficiency, collaboration and client service.
The postholder will lead a small team or community of Business Analysts and work closely with project managers, sponsors and end users to ensure that solutions are practical, value-driven and adopted effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design
- Engage with business leaders to understand strategic priorities, operational pain points and opportunities for improvement
- Translate business needs into clear, outcome-based requirements and define solution options (process, digital or behavioural)
- Partner with Technology, Finance and Operations to assess solution feasibility, costs and benefits
- Ensure all proposed solutions align to firmwide strategic objectives, policies and governance frameworks
- Drive end-to-end traceability between business requirements, solution design, delivery and benefits realisation
Delivery Leadership
- Lead business design activity across the project lifecycle, from discovery to delivery and embedding
- Support prioritisation of initiatives through structured business cases and value assessments
- Review agreed solutions, ensuring consistency and alignment with technology and business processes
- Work with project managers to ensure that change impacts are understood, documented and mitigated
- Contribute to post-implementation reviews and lessons learned to strengthen future delivery
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Enablement
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across legal practice groups and business services
- Facilitate workshops, process mapping and ideation sessions to co-create practical and scalable solutions
- Ensure strong user engagement and communication throughout the solution lifecycle
- Champion adoption of new tools, processes, and ways of working through structured change management and training activities
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, coach and mentor Business Analysts and Change Specialists within the transformation community
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and collaboration
- Develop and maintain business process documentation, templates and standards for consistent delivery
Requirements
- Significant experience in business analysis, process improvement or solution design in a professional services environment
- Proven ability to translate business strategy into practical, deliverable change initiatives
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels
- Excellent understanding of business process improvement, requirements management and change adoption
