Job Summary Department Summary: Michigan Dining comprises twenty on-campus cafes and markets, ten residential dining halls, Michigan Bakery, and the Michigan Catering unit. Our 600 professional and 1,300 student employees are committed to creative, healthy, and nutritious foods, international cuisines, and sustainability throughout all dining operations.
Position Summary The Business Process & Technology Analyst (BPTA) is a limited-term role responsible for maintaining existing dining technology systems and workflows during a period of significant system transition.
This position ensures continuity of day-to-day operations by supporting current-state systems including menu management, point-of-sale (POS), meal plan, and catering platforms while permanent staff focuses on implementation of new systems. The role plays a critical part in minimizing disruption, maintaining data integrity, and supporting operational teams throughout the transition.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Dining Systems for business operational matters, and also has a functional reporting relationship to Student Life Technology Solutions for technology and data governance.
Responsibilities*

Position Responsibilities Criteria
Working Conditions Must be flexible and able to adapt to change in a fast-moving, intense work environment. This individual is considered a critical employee and will be required to come to campus in the event of emergencies. This position is primarily required to work on campus, with some hybrid work as approved by their supervisor.
Physical Requirements Able to maintain a static position for extended periods. Able to assist with events and services in our dining halls, cafes, markets, and catering events as needed. Ability to move and transport objects weighing 25-30 pounds.
Direct Reports Supervises student staff.
Other Information This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.
Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment and applicants for this position will not be sponsored for work visas.
Selected candidates whose start date is 4/1/2026 or after, will not be eligible for the university FY26-27 salary/merit plan unless otherwise notified.
Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
Relocation will not be offered for this role.

Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams or vendors, escalating as needed.

Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, and related fields, or relevant experience of 2-3 years with some certifications or classes in a technology-related field.
Proficiency in common Microsoft Office software and/or the equivalent Google applications.
A minimum of 1 year of experience training staff with varying levels of technical knowledge, utilizing diverse training methods.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service.
At least 1-3 years of experience working with software systems, either in an administrative, technical support, foodservice or retail setting.
A minimum of 1 year of experience with data entry, reconciliation, sales reporting, or data auditing. Modes of Work
