Position Overview
The U.S. Business Development Manager to join our team and help expand our partnerships across biopharma, biotech, and academia.. You will initiate, drive, and close strategic collaborations with:
- Academic cancer centers and KOLs
- Oncology biotechs and pharma
- CROs and clinical trial networks
- Advanced labs with NGS or ex vivo cell-based infrastructure
You will work closely with internal scientific and executive teams to match partner needs with our platform capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partner Development
- Identify and engage translational researchers, clinical trial leaders, strategic accounts, and BD decision-makers to utilize Gene Solutions’ portfolio of tests
- Lead initial outreach, meetings, and scientific presentations
- Alliance Building & Contracting
- Drive early-phase discussions to term sheets, MOUs, or pilot study agreements
- Coordinate internal technical/scientific teams to support feasibility assessments
- Negotiate partnership scope (co-development, licensing, research use)
- Market Development & Insights
- Map and update landscape of immunotherapy and precision oncology players
- Report U.S. trends in NGS MRD, MCED, and LDT market
- Identify unmet needs and propose use cases for platform adoption
- Conference & KOL Engagement
- Represent company at major conferences (AACR, SITC, ASCO, AGBT, etc.)
- Develop speaking opportunities, scientific posters, and BD-side events
- Cultivate long-term relationships with U.S.-based KOLs
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 5–10+ years in business development, alliance management, or clinical research operations in oncology diagnostics, immuno-oncology, or biotech services
- Strong network in academic cancer centers and/or pharma BD/collaborations
- Familiarity with NGS, MRD, and tumor genomics profiling and its application to biomarker discovery, clinical trial optimization, and patient stratification
- Past roles with CROs, IO-focused biotechs, or molecular diagnostic companies
- Strong ability to convey complex science in business contexts
Preferred
- Scientific degree (MS, PhD, and/or MBA) in biology, immunology, genomics, or related
- Track record of closing BD deals or co-development partnerships
- Willingness to “roll up your sleeves and build from scratch”
- Experience working with or supporting investigator-initiated trials, collaborative research studies, or real-world evidence programs
- Knowledge of CMS/Medicare reimbursement pathways for LDTs, system channel strategies (employer benefits, health plans, community engagement), care delivery at the provider level, and/or patient engagement strategies
