Position Profile
The Business Development Manager is responsible for business development and sales growth in the federal, first responder and commercial sales segments with primary focus on promoting and selling innovative solutions, critical needs and fully integrated multi-function day night & thermal, observation, targeting and orientation products.

Achieve targeted sales growth in the federal, first responder and commercial segments
Sell fully integrated, multi-function electro-optical products including day, night, thermal, and range finding products with innovative solutions for critical needs
Generate new business opportunities and manage existing accounts as directed
Develop, maintain, and penetrate assigned segments to predict opportunities, understand organizational structure, and influence key decision-makers
Develop and maintain strong credibility and customer service reputation with product end-users
Understand and clearly articulate Safran DSI Optronics value proposition
Identify and understand current operational missions, gaps, and roadmaps within the military
Prepare and conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training for end users, maintenance technicians, Program Managers and key leadership
Submit market intelligence, concerning competition, new product ideas, pricing, industry trends, and customer attitudes
Remain knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
Be a subject matter expert of all Safran DSI Optronics solutions and their use in practical business settings
Prepare and manage quotations and work with contracts staff to ensure terms and conditions are acceptable to Safran DSI Optronics.
Manage distribution business partners to maximize their effectiveness and ensure they are synchronized with the Company roadmaps and marketing efforts
Business Development experience selling to the federal, first responders and commercial segments. Military or Law Enforcement experience is also considered.
Experience working in a business development role or military or law enforcement equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Basic understanding of Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK, CIV/ATAK MIL & WINTAK) application, advanced plugins, MANET systems, Mesh networks, unmanned aerial vehicle control and multicasting
Must possess the ability to effectively develop and execute training using instructional systems development
Possess the ability to work in conjunction with industry partners to develop material solutions
Ability to interface with company team members in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined environment, including program managers, engineers, and leadership
Potential to execute new business capture efforts, including customer/opportunity identification, quote generation, sales administration through contract execution.
Must be able to participate and take ownership in the company’s annual business development/sales plan, which includes developing and meeting forecasts.
Must possess knowledge of the end user electro-optics market including key customers and competitive landscape
Possesses a solid understanding of federal, state and local budgeting and acquisition processes
Familiar with the grant writing process
Demonstrated potential to sell electro-optics products to a diverse customer community.
Proven work and or industry experience within the targeted sales community, specifically US, State and Local government
Experience in the electro-optics business area as an end-user of these products or in a business development role marketing and selling these products
Recent prior military or law enforcement service, with preference for first responder or emergency management
