Business Development Manager - DACH Territory:
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Business Development Manager to strengthen our growing Business Development team and support our expanding business and scientific efforts. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and fostering relationships with key decision-makers at Biotech and Pharmaceutical companies to secure business opportunities for the Company.
Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development - Europe, the candidate will be responsible for driving the overall business development strategy within the DACH territory, establishing Axxam as the partner of choice for all discovery services. The candidate will also support and develop strategic partnership activities to deliver high-value, high-quality, and long-term partnerships/benefits to the business with both new and existing customers.
Please note this is a remote position and can be based anywhere in EU. The role will require up to 50% travel.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, success-driven individual who is well networked within the life science industry in the DACH area. The candidate will be able to work remotely and independently, with dedicated support from the Axxam team, while building strong relationships and a pipeline of opportunities throughout the geographical areas. A portfolio of already existing clients in the area is made available to be grown and consolidated.
A collaborative attitude and ability to multitask are essential for this position, as well as the ability to work under pressure and meet corporate deadlines. Candidates with prior experience in the field of Drug Discovery will be given priority. Fluent English is requested.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify new business opportunities and drive the sales process through to closure within the assigned geography
Meet potential new clients and conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships, assess satisfaction and increase sales
Achieve designated yearly sales goals within the assigned geography
Establish in-depth knowledge of Axxam services and platforms
Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders/Principals to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns and objectives
Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
Cold call as appropriate within the assigned market-geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
Handle customer queries in a timely and efficient manner
Attend conferences and trade shows as required
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in scientific disciplines
Working knowledge of drug discovery
5+ years of business development/sales experience in life sciences/biotech/pharma
Proven track record of generated business volume
Fluent English (written and spoken)

Motivation for sales and customer management abilities
Self- disciplined, auto-motivated, high-energy level and proactive attitude
Excellent time management and strong organizational skills: ability to quickly prioritize jobs, being able to anticipate the changing needs of customers and clients to meet sales goals
Professional, friendly and motivated at building relationships
Excellent presentation, listening and communication skills
Professional use of the Microsoft Office programs
Ability to travel throughout an assigned geographical territory

Fluent in German (written and spoken)
