mode40 is a fast-growing tech company serving enterprise manufacturing clients across North America. Our platform helps manufacturers uncover hidden inefficiencies, predict equipment issues before they happen, and make smarter decisions with their data — and we're just getting started.
We're looking for a Business Analyst to join our product team. You'll be the bridge between our clients, our product, and our engineering team — translating complex manufacturing challenges into clear requirements and helping shape how AI-powered features come to life. If you thrive at the intersection of business problems and technical solutions, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
- Work directly with manufacturing clients to understand their operations, pain points, and goals.
- Translate business needs into clear user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria for the engineering team.
- Help define and refine AI-powered features by identifying where intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and natural language tools can deliver the most value.
- Analyze manufacturing data to uncover trends, validate assumptions, and support product decisions.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers through design discussions, sprint planning, and feature delivery.
- Build and maintain documentation including process flows, data dictionaries, and functional specifications.
- Support client onboarding and implementation by ensuring the platform is configured to meet their needs.
- Test and validate new features to ensure they solve the intended problem before they reach clients.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in a business analyst, product analyst, or similar role.
- Strong analytical thinking — you can break down ambiguous problems into structured, actionable pieces.
- Experience writing clear requirements, user stories, and process documentation.
- Comfort working with data — you can pull insights from dashboards, spreadsheets, or databases and tell a story with them.
- Curiosity about AI and how tools like LLMs, automation, and predictive models can be applied to real business problems.
- Excellent communication skills — you can facilitate a conversation between a plant manager and a software engineer and make sure both walk away aligned.
- A collaborative, low-ego approach — you'll work closely with a small team where everyone contributes.
Nice to Have
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or supply chain.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar.
- Exposure to agile development workflows and tools.
- Experience with AI-powered products or comfort experimenting with AI tools in your own work.
- Background in time-series data or operational analytics.
Why Join Us
- Solve problems that matter — our tools help manufacturers run safer, smarter, and more efficiently.
- Help shape how AI is applied to real-world manufacturing challenges.
- Competitive pay, benefits, and room to grow with a company that's scaling fast.
