Business Analyst – Commercial Lines Policy Administration
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced
Business Analyst
with a strong background in
Commercial Lines policy administration
to serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT project teams. This role focuses on capturing, analyzing, and translating business requirements into clear, actionable documentation that drives technology solutions and process improvements across underwriting, policy lifecycle, and rating systems.

Preferred Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
Prior experience in
P&C Commercial Lines insurance
or with
policy administration system modernization
projects.
Collaborate with business units, IT, and project teams to
gather, analyze, and document business and user requirements
related to Commercial Lines policy administration systems and processes.
Facilitate
requirement and design sessions
with underwriting, operations, and technology teams to define system enhancements and integrations.
Develop detailed
process flows, use cases, data mappings, and functional specifications
supporting policy lifecycle activities including quoting, binding, issuance, endorsement, and renewal.
Partner with QA teams to develop
testing strategies, test cases, and traceability matrices
to ensure all business requirements are validated.
Conduct
business process analysis
to identify opportunities for efficiency and automation across policy administration functions.
Participate actively in all
phases of the project lifecycle
, ensuring requirements are fully understood, documented, and delivered in alignment with business objectives.
Support the rollout of new or enhanced
Commercial Lines products, rating changes, and system configurations.
Contribute to
Business Analysis Center of Excellence (CoE)
initiatives by following best practices and promoting consistent documentation standards.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand business needs, anticipate challenges, and ensure successful delivery of policy administration solutions.
3+ years of Business Analysis experience
, ideally supporting Commercial Lines insurance systems or policy administration initiatives.
Strong understanding of
Commercial Lines workflows
(e.g., property, casualty, auto, liability, inland marine, or workers’ compensation).
Proven ability to
document complex processes, system requirements, and user stories
with clarity and precision.
Experience working with
policy management platforms
(e.g., Duck Creek, Majesco, OneShield, or similar).
Excellent
analytical, problem-solving, and communication
skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
Skilled in
facilitation, stakeholder management, and requirement elicitation
using structured techniques.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with process modeling tools.
Experience writing
test plans and test cases
to support UAT and system validation.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with
Agile/Scrum methodologies
preferred.
