Role Overview
The Content Strategist will be the visionary behind our clients' content success, bridging the gap between creative production and performance marketing objectives. This role is responsible for developing holistic content strategies that align with client goals, target audience needs, and search/platform algorithms, ensuring every piece of content delivers maximum impact and measurable ROI.
**Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning**
• Develop comprehensive, data-backed content strategies (pillar pages, blog posts, video concepts, social media campaigns, email sequences, etc.) that support client business goals (e.g., lead generation, traffic growth, brand awareness).
• Conduct thorough audience research and competitive analysis to identify content gaps and opportunities.
• Perform deep keyword research and implement SEO best practices into all content planning to drive organic search visibility and rankings.
• Map content to the customer journey and marketing funnels (TOFU, MOFU, BOFU) to optimize for performance marketing campaigns.
Execution and Management
• Create detailed content calendars and editorial guidelines, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and quality across all channels.
• Collaborate closely with the Content Creation Team (writers, designers, videographers) to brief projects and ensure strategic alignment.
• Work with the Performance Marketing/Media Buying Team to optimize content for paid promotion and paid social platforms, ensuring creative assets align with campaign objectives.
Analysis and Reporting
• Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to content, such as traffic, engagement rates, conversion rates, and cost per acquisition (CPA).
• Use tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, platform insights) to analyze content performance and identify areas for optimization.
• Present content performance reports and strategic recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
**Qualifications
Must-Haves**
• 3+ years of experience in a dedicated Content Strategy or senior content marketing role, preferably within an agency environment.
• Proven expertise in developing and executing content strategies that drive measurable performance marketing results (e.g., MQLs, SQLs, sales).
• Exceptional understanding of SEO principles, keyword research tools (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush), and Google Analytics.
• Strong portfolio showcasing successful content strategies across various formats (long-form articles, video, social, email).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies clearly to clients.
Nice-to-Haves
• Experience with A/B testing content formats and headlines.
• Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo).
• Background in a specific industry (e.g., SaaS, FinTech, E-commerce).
