Cardio-CARE is part of the Kühne Foundation's medical programmes and is working on the largest genome decoding research programme in the German-speaking world to date. This multidisciplinary project benefits from intensive collaboration between the various institutes at the Davos Medical Campus, the University Hospital of Zurich (USZ) and the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). Prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases are at the heart of our activities.
We are searching for a highly motivated Bioinformatician / Computational Biologist (f/m/d) to join our dynamic bioinformatics team.
Your Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain bioinformatic and statistical workflows
• Perform large-scale data analysis, integration, and visualization
• Provide training and support to team members
• Stay up to date with literature on the latest software and methodologies
• Contribute to the publication of research findings
What you Bring
• A background in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, statistics, or a related field
• Strong programming skills in R, Python, or similar programming languages
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters
• Practical knowledge of reproducible workflow systems (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake) and version control tools
• Experience analyzing large-scale biological datasets
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for interdisciplinary teamwork
• Fluency in English; knowledge of German is an advantage
• Experience in any of the following would be a bonus: genetic epidemiology, image analysis, RNA-seq

• Location: Davos, Switzerland. Hybrid, with 3 days per week in the office.
• Contract type: permanent, full-time (100%)
