About The Role We are seeking an experienced and highly adaptable Forward-Deployed Engineer to join our dynamic team at Foxglove. This pivotal role is ideal for a product-minded full-stack engineer who excels in customer-facing environments and enjoys tackling complex technical challenges within robotics and observability domains. As a Forward-Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with strategic clients to integrate and customize Foxglove’s platform within their operational ecosystems. Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with customer teams to ensure seamless integration, extending our core products based on real-world needs, and providing technical guidance and support. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on development, creative problem-solving, and meaningful customer engagement, positioning you as a trusted engineering partner. Your efforts will directly influence the effectiveness of robotics deployments, enabling clients to harness data insights for operational excellence and innovation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Python, C++, ROS, and Node.js
• 3+ years of experience in Robotics or Autonomous systems
• Proven track record in customer-facing engineering roles, preferably within robotics or autonomous technologies
• Strong experience in rapid prototyping and iterative delivery with external stakeholders
• Solid understanding of network and cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience building and maintaining database-backed REST APIs
• Ability to own problems end-to-end, identify missing components, and communicate complex technical details effectively
• Willingness to travel extensively and work on-site with clients as needed

Bonus qualifications include experience with multiple database systems and designing SDKs, integration libraries, or internal tooling that enhance service efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with strategic customers to integrate Foxglove’s platform into their operational workflows
• Extend and customize our core products based on customer feedback and real-world use cases
• Provide technical support and guidance during deployment and ongoing operations
• Participate in upstream development efforts to improve core platform functionalities
